Thanks for deciding to do this course. You're about to take a deep dive into teaching proficiency - I really hope you find it useful!
So, what's it all about?
This is not another course on how to teach exam preparation - if you're teaching C2, you've already done that. This is about zooming in on bridging the gap between advanced and proficiency, in terms of both teaching and learning.

As teachers, are we the bridge? Does that make the learner the monkey? Maybe the teacher builds the bridge, and the learner walks across it however it wants anyway?
Or perhaps slapping a gif in there as some kind of profound visual metaphor is just a bit daft.
Whatever the answer, we tend to develop our own rhythms, rituals and methods when teaching exam classes. Perhaps we repeat them and adapt them to each learner group that comes our way. Interestingly (or annoyingly) proficiency doesn't seem to fit in with this approach so easily. It requires a little...more. But more of what exactly?
Well, that's precisely why you're here. We're going to explore, step by step, what's different about proficiency, how to approach our classes effectively, and ultimately feel confident to adapt, curate and create useful content with this in mind.
Let's get stuck in! :)
