I’m a Mancunian living in Madrid, and have been for over 15 years.
I started out avoiding scorpions and other creatures on a summer camp in the mountains of Cadiz nearly 20 years ago. I spent the next year (scorpion-free) in Murcia as a language assistant at the secondary school IES La Flota.
From there I headed up to the big city to work as a teacher and senior teacher at Cambridge House, Madrid, for around 12 years. Over time I became a Cambridge speaking examiner and studied both the Cambridge DELTA and a diploma in Learning Design, as well as diving deep into UX.
I’m now freelance and spend my time teaching online and delivering training sessions for Cambridge in between learning design projects. I’ve worked with Button School on courses such as Advanced UI and Prototyping in Figma, from design through to implementation. I’m currently developing online training courses for English teachers.
I’m always up for connecting with education professionals who I might be able to help or learn from. If you happen to be in my neck of the woods and would like to meet up, give me a shout.
