๐ฉ๐ผโ๐ย Unit 1: The Learner
First we'll analyse typical proficiency learners by considering their needs, wants and motivations. We'll employ a mix of needs analysis and learning design best practices to identify the learning gap - the space between where learners are and where they need to be.
๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธย Unit 2: The Step Up
Next, we'll focus in on the shift we need to make for teaching proficiency and help learners bridge their learning gap. We'll look at teaching nuance in language, teaching form as a choice to be made, and how to help learners practise more effectively.
๐ง๐ฝโ๐ซย Unit 3: The Approach
Here we'll explore tried and tested ways to approach teaching a group of proficiency learners, starting with how to create a safe learning space - not only for learners, but for you, too.
๐ย Unit 4: The Content
Let's be honest: there isn't a whole lot of content out there, so we'll briefly explore the kinds of course books that are around. We'll look at how we might adapt these or other, authentic materials, with the aim of creating our own.
๐คน๐ผโโ๏ธย Unit 5: The Skills
This is where we get laser-focused on building skills for successful exam performance. We'll look at practical ways we can help our learners feel more comfortable with exam tasks and get where they need to be to pass with confidence.
